FAQ about Durostone machining
Date:2020/12/15 16:07:17 Clik:1403

1, What is the minimum thickness of the wall and base for Durostone cas761 machining?

1mm wall and floor thickness if it the machined area is large then do not recommend going down this thin

2, What are typical RPM and feed-rates for cutting?

This is dependant on the machine tool you are using and will depend on desired tool life vs production speed but typical settings are as follows:

8000 RPM maximum spindle speed and typical speed of 7500 RPM

For a 6 mm tool use a feed rate of 1,200 mm/min

3, What type of cutter works best (2 flute, 3 flute, or 4 flute)?

Typically use a 2 flute diamond coated tool. Kete Durostone sheet needs hard metal tools such as Chrome-Vanadium.

4, Is it necessary to apply refrigerant or coolant while cutting the Durostone?

Use coolant mainly to keep the dust down. Material can also be cut with no coolant but a vacuum is required to remove the dust.

5, What is the lifecycle of Kete durostone solder pallet?

Typically 12,000 cycles

The most critical factor affecting service life based on life cycles is the time and temperature at which the heated solder is in contact with the material.

The life-time will also depend on the cooling process. If the pallet is allowed to cool down slowly then the life cycle will be longer.
